Veteran business aviation executive and industry advocate Roger Whyte has been selected as the 2016 recipient of NBAA’s John H. Winant Award. Whyte, who has remained actively involved with business aviation advocacy since his retirement from Cessna in 2010, is being recognized for his lifelong dedication to business aviation.
“Roger’s selfless and enduring commitment to helping business aviation grow is exactly what the Winant award is all about,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. Whyte is a past chairman of the association’s Associate Member Advisory Council and NBAA board member. The association credited him with helping to lay the groundwork for the annual ABACE in Shanghai. He has spent the past three years as chairman of Prague-based Central Europe Private Aviation (CEPA).
Whyte spent nearly three decades with Cessna, joining the company in 1982 as regional sales manager for German-speaking Europe. He retired as senior vice president of sales and marketing at the Wichita-based aircraft manufacturer.
