Rockwell Collins has received approval from the Brazilian national telecommunications agency Anatel to sell satellite services in Brazil. With the licensing authorization, Rockwell Collins can sign distribution and service agreements with satellite entities and operators in Brazil. Rockwell Collins resells Inmarsat and Iridium satellite services.
“Brazil has been investing heavily in a growing network of airport and Air Traffic Control (ATC) facilities, and major events like the World Cup and 2016 Rio Games have also driven growth,” said David Stanley, vice president, ArincDirect Cabin Services for Rockwell Collins. “Rockwell Collins’ ability to provide satellite connectivity will help support that growth, particularly for business aviation customers, where Brazil ranks third in the world after the U.S. and Mexico.”
The approval will enable Rockwell Collins to continue to expand its presence in the Brazilian market, where it had grown its employment by more than 50 percent since 2011 and last year announced an expansion of its facilities there. The company also is displaying some of its satcom hardware and technologies during this week’s LABACE 2016. The company will feature its Venue cabin management and entertainment systems and ArincDirect flight support services on its display at this week’s LABACE 2016.
