Brazilian aviation authority ANAC today announced approval for the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion upgrade on Beechcraft King Air 350 turboprops equipped with Pro Line II avionics. The Brazilian validation follows U.S. FAA supplemental type certification earlier this year.
The upgrade, which is now standard on new King Air 350is, swaps out the older Pro Line II systems with three 14.1-inch widescreen LCDs and touchscreen capabilities. The Fusion cockpit will include equipment designed to meet latest navigation requirements, including ADS-B compliance, SBAS-capable GNSS, and localizer performance with vertical guidance, among others.
The suite also includes Rockwell Collins touch-interactive maps, real-time onboard weather radar overlays, obstacles and special-use airspace; along with geo-referenced electronic navigation charts and Rockwell Collins’ airport dome. The system also was designed for easier database updates using a standard USB drive port.
Rockwell Collins has developed Fusion cockpit upgrades for the King Air 250 and 90, and similar to the 350, the suite is now standard on those models. ANAC previously has approved the Fusion upgrade for Pro Line 21-equipped King Air 350s.
