Calquin Helicopters S.A., a subsidiary of Spain’s Grupo FAASA, signed an agreement with Ireland-based Waypoint Leasing Limited to lease one Airbus AS350 B3. The helicopter previously completed firefighting operations in Europe and will now be used for high altitude utility missions in Chile’s Andes Mountains. This transaction marks Waypoint’s 17th aircraft release event.

As a global helicopter leasing company, Waypoint operates 135 aircraft that support utility, firefighting and other industrial focused helicopter operations. Grupo FAASA operates more than 75 aircraft in Spain, Chile and Italy. The company opened a Chilean subsidiary of Calquin, a fixed and rotary wing operator, in 2015. Airbus Helicopters is represented at the LABACE show in São Paulo this week by Helibras, the European manufacturer’s Brazilian distributor.
