TRU To Expand Offerings at Wichita Maintenance Academy
By year-end courses will cover some piston and jet aircraft.

TRU Simulation + Training plans to expand its capabilities at its Aviation Maintenance Training Academy in Wichita to include more aircraft models. By the end of the year, the company plans to add maintenance and avionics initial courses for the Cessna Caravan 208, CJ series, Excel series, Sovereign, Sovereign + and Latitude models as well as the Beechcraft Baron and Bonanza. Courses currently offered include maintenance and avionics initial and practical for new-production Beechcraft King Air 300s and 200s, and instruction for McCauley propeller maintenance for piston and turboprop model aircraft.

At the company's Mid-Continent facility, technicians receive a combination of classroom instruction featuring 3D modeling and animation and hands-on training on both maintenance task trainers and actual aircraft housed in the academy’s adjacent 35,000-sq-ft, climate-controlled hangar. The academy will also specialize in a 1.5-day course on the Beechcraft structural inspection and repair manual to satisfy FAA compliance requirements on affected Beechcraft models.
