West Star Aviation announced it will be expanding its Chattanooga facility to provide a maintenance hangar and a paint facility similar to the one the company opened at its Grand Junction, Colo. facility last year. The new 45,000-sq-ft facility is designed to be able to meet all the MRO’s paint needs and accommodate aircraft such as the Global Express, G550 and Legacy 600. Ground breaking on the designated 13 acres allocated for expansion is set for the fourth quarter, with anticipated completion one year later.
"West Star is well known industry wide for our specialization in the repair and maintenance of airframes, windows and engines, as well as inspections and major modifications. Our CHA location will continue in the state-of-the-art facility footsteps of our other locations and offer avionics installation, repair, interior and refurbishment," said CEO Bob Rasberry.
In addition to its Chattanooga and Grand Junction facilities, West Star also operates in East Alton, Ill.
