Rockwell Collins received FAA STC approval for its Pro Line Fusion avionics upgrade for King Air 350s originally delivered with Pro Line II avionics. The STC, now available through Rockwell Collins-authorized dealers, was a collaborative effort with Landmark Aviation Winston-Salem and BHE & Associates, the avionics company said.
“This upgrade immediately readies the aircraft for the future with simple airspace mandate compliance and essential capabilities for NextGen flying,” said Rockwell Collins business and regional systems vice president and general manager Craig Olson. This includes ADS-B, SBAS-capable GNSS, localizer performance with vertical guidance (LPV) approaches and radius-to-fix (RF) legs. In addition, Fusion is software upgradeable and also provides the backbone for integrating future enhancements, such as the Collins HGS-3500 head-up guidance system, EVS-3000 enhanced vision system, MultiScan weather radar and airport moving map.
The retrofit sports three 14.1-inch LCDs with touchscreen interfaces, matching the display configuration of the latest King Air models delivered from the Beechcraft factory. Standard features include synthetic vision and touch-interactive maps with real-time onboard weather radar overlays, obstacles and special-use airspace.
