Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) last week announced a scholarship to its professional pilot upset and recovery training (UPRT) course for a pilot who is still early on in the aviation education process. APS, a Part 141 flight school, is certified to deliver all of its upset recovery, stall/spin and instrument recovery training courses worldwide.
Scholarship applicants must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an aviation degree program at a University Aviation Association-member college or university. Applicants must also hold at least a current private pilot certificate and Class III or better FAA medical certificate. IFR currency is not required. APS said that applicants need not be U.S. citizens, but must meet current TSA aviation training requirements.
The scholarship does not include transportation to or from Mesa, Ariz., or the cost of lodging during the course. Applications must be submitted by June 15 and the training itself must be completed before the end of this year. The scholarship winner will be notified by June 30.
