Shanghai-based charter broker Avicus Asia has positioned itself to facilitate charters in Asia, particularly China, and is highlighting these capabilities at this year’s NBAA’s Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference. Avicus Asia is the representative office for U.S.-based Avicus Group, which also provides aircraft sales and leasing and customized international travel services. Avicus also has offices in Boston, London and Hong Kong.
According to Avicus Group CEO Jane McBride, “After talking to various customers, business partners and old friends in the chartering business here, we realized that, despite Asia’s growth in business aviation, operators are not particularly easy to reach, especially in China.” The greatest challenge for charter customers is the time needed to arrange Asia charters, a process that sometimes takes up to a month. “However, since we are on the ground in Shanghai we have established efficient communications with all the operators and can vet and negotiate in real time,” she said. “We see market demands for turnkey chartering solutions in Asia.”
