December marks the 10th anniversary of the inauguration of ADS-B services by Australia’s air navigation services provider Airservices. The continent is now blanketed by a network of 75 ADS-B ground stations that support 99 percent of jet aircraft operating in the region. It also supports 60 percent of all ADS-B-equipped aircraft operating on IFR flight plans in Australia. All IFR aircraft in Australia will be required to carry ADS-B equipment by February 2017.
