Chad is the editor of AINalerts, AIN's daily business aviation newsletter, and is also the news editor at AIN Media Group.&nbsp;He has been writing about aviation, with an emphasis on business aviation, since 1994. Chad started his writing career at The Avion,&nbsp;the&nbsp;student newspaper at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, serving as editor-in-chief before graduating with a bachelor's in aeronautical science. After a stint as managing editor at Professional Pilot&nbsp;magazine, he joined&nbsp;AIN in late 1998. Bombardier Aerospace said there is still a “small window of time” to <a href="http://www.safetystanddown.com/aviation-safety-seminars/united-states-2014?utm_medium=ainalerts">register</a> for its 2014 U.S. Safety Standdown, a free four-day aviation safety seminar that will be held in Wichita from October 6 to 9. This year’s theme is “attention control techniques.” Space is limited and workshops are filling up fast, Bombardier said, with several already showing a wait list. This year, the seminar will be split between interactive break-out and general sessions. The new format provides a variety of half-day workshops and half-day general sessions. “Preflight” workshops are also being held on the morning of October 6, before the official seminar opening that afternoon.
