In recognition of their valuable contributions to NBAA’s Schedulers and Dispatchers scholarship program, the organization has honored two long-time supporting companies.
Signature Flight Support has been sponsor of an initiative that provides funds to help individuals achieve their education goals in the field of flight department management since the program’s inception. Over the past 16 years, the BBA Aviation subsidiary has given approximately $80,000 in scholarships. Company president and COO Maria Sastre (left in inset photo) and Mary Miller, corporate vice president for industry and government affairs accepted the “Making a Difference Award” for Signature’s contributions to the scholarship fund.
Universal Weather & Aviation was likewise recognized for its “above and beyond” support of the program, both in terms of monetary donations and flight management training provided over the years. On the exhibition floor yesterday, Kevin Tipton (center in main photo), the Houston-based aviation services provider’s vice president for worldwide marketing and communications, accepted the award on behalf of the entire company from Schedulers and Dispatchers committee member Eve Gregory (center left) and NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen (center right).
