Last year, JA Air Center at Chicago-area Aurora Municipal Airport placed first in the 2013 AIN FBO Survey for the Americas, earning an impressive average score of 9.5 out of a possible 10. There were more than 12,000 evaluations submitted for FBOs in 89 countries in last year’s survey.
Some of the 18 FBOs in the Americas making up the top 10 percent last year included AirFlite (Long Beach Airport, Calif.); Fargo Jet Center (Hector International Airport, N.D.); Global Select (Sugar Land Regional Airport, Texas); Tampa International Jet Center (Tampa International Airport, Fla.); XJet (Centennial Airport, Colo.); Banyan Air Service (Fort Lauderdale Airport, Fla.); and Wilson Air Center Memphis (Memphis International Airport, Tenn.).
TAG Aviation Farnborough (UK) was tops in AIN’s survey of international FBOs, with an average score of 8.9. Other top-performing international FBOs included TAG Aviation Geneva; KLM Jet Center in Amsterdam; Signature Flight Support Paris Le Bourget; Dassault Falcon Service Paris Le Bourget; Harrods Aviation at London Luton; and Swissport Executive Aviation at Nice Cote d’Azur, France.
In last year's survey, the vast majority of AIN readers listed excellent customer service among the most important factors in FBO selection, followed by fuel pricing and passenger amenities, while “turn offs” included poor customer service, rundown or unclean facility and unprofessional customer service representatives.
