Bell Helicopter Expands Singapore Service Inspection

Bell Helicopter has received approval by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to perform maintenance and customization on Bell 206s, 407s and 429s under the certification of Transport Canada. The authorization includes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; inspections, repair or recertification; component replacement; incorporating airworthiness directives, service bulletins and technical bulletins; incorporating STCs or servicing instructions; and helicopter disassembly and re-assembly.

There are no Bell helicopters operating in Singapore itself, a Bell spokeswoman told AIN. “Singapore is a strategically important site for us as we have more than 900 aircraft in the region. Our Bell Helicopter Singapore site serves as a gateway to the Asia-Pacific region–both in terms of sales of new aircraft and aftermarket support, including comprehensive repair, completion, maintenance and customization solutions as well as maintenance training options,” she said.

With this approval, the Bell Helicopter Service Center in Singapore is authorized to perform inspection, testing, repair and modification for current-production Bell helicopters under the regulatory authorities of Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Bell Helicopter has had a presence in Singapore since the mid-1970s.
