Volo Aviation Wins Contract for Plattsburgh FBO

Volo Aviation was awarded a three-year contract to manage the FBO at Plattsburgh (N.Y.) International Airport, the company announced today. The airport serves the Plattsburgh/Montreal/Lake Placid Region, including northern New York State, southern Quebec and Vermont.

“We are pleased to have been awarded this contract,” said Volo Aviation senior vice president for FBO operations Brian Ciambra. “By leveraging our FBO experience and market knowledge, we are confident that we can assist Clinton County in achieving its goal of enhancing the customer experience while expanding business at this location,” he added.

A former military airfield, PBG has been owned by Clinton County since 2002 and the airport’s facilities have been upgraded to civilian aviation standards. The airport now has modern facilities, plenty of ramp space and multi-model capabilities with dedicated access to major highways. Volo touts Plattsburgh as “a great tech stop candidate” for business jets crossing the Atlantic.

Besides managing and operating the airport’s general aviation FBO, Volo will provide above- and below-wing services for airlines Spirit Airlines and Allegiant Air at the field. These include airline onsite ticketing and related customer-service functions, as well as ramp operations such as fueling, de-icing and baggage handling.
