Aerobridge, an organization founded in late 2005 to coordinate disaster-relief efforts by general aviation operators, is challenging every member of the aviation community to contribute $10 “so that when the next disaster hits, we can share the fuel expense.” During Aerobridge’s recent operations in response to Hurricane Sandy, it coordinated more than 95 aircraft flights to New Jersey and New York that brought more than 51,000 pounds of needed supplies to victims. It also trucked in more than 72,000 pounds of supplies.
