SurvivorClub.com Speaks to Safety of Emergency Beacons

ACR Electronics CEO Michael Wilkerson believes the best way to keep more boaters, aviators and outdoor enthusiasts safe is to educate them about the value of keeping a 406 MHz emergency beacon close at hand when it's needed. Because stories about rescue efforts carry considerable weight, ACR Electronics announced its new Survivor Club--www.survivorclub.com--where people who have used an emergency beacon can share their rescue stories on the SurvivorClub.com forum. In addition to seeing the beacon used in that rescue added to ACR's Wall of Fame, people who activate a beacon after Oct. 1, 2012 will have their unit replaced with a new one at no charge.

“We see SurvivorClub.com as a forum to promote a very important public service message that satellite-detectable 406 MHz beacons are the ultimate way out of trouble and are literally saving lives somewhere around the planet every day,” Wilkinson said. “Who better to promote this safety message than survivors who have actually been rescued?”
