Bombardier Aerospace delivered 163 business jets during the 11-month fiscal year that ended December 31, compared with 155 shipped during the 12-month Fiscal Year 2010. (FY2011 was only 11 months because Bombardier’s board of directors voted to change the financial year-end from January 31 to December 31, effective Dec. 31, 2011.)

The 2011 deliveries included 33 Learjets, unchanged from 2010; 79 Challengers, up by seven; and 51 Globals, up one from the previous year. During this same 11-month period, the company received net orders for 191 business jets, versus 107 in FY2010.

“The recurring fluctuations in the world economies in 2011 created a mood of caution in many sectors, and the resulting uncertainty continued to challenge the civil aviation industry,” said Bombardier Aerospace president and COO Guy Hachey. “Within this uncertain economic environment, our large business aircraft segment has done extremely well, as seen by our Global business jets, where we have seen continuous growth.”

Bombardier’s commercial aircraft deliveries, however, fell to 78 last year, compared with 97 for the previous fiscal year. The company took in net orders for 54 commercial aircraft, down from 93 in FY2010.
