Some of India’s leading MROs have joined forces to promote the nation’s growing aerospace MRO sector. They include Air Works India, Max Aerospace, GE Aviation, SR Technic, Horizon Aircraft Maintenance, United Heli charters, Reliance Airports, Kingfisher Airlines and the Rotor Wing Society of India. The association’s goals include working as a group to facilitate and support the government in streamlining the overall industry framework to boost development of the sector. Air Works executive director Ravi Menon said, “The goal of the association is to map out a clear growth path that would showcase how revenue need not be lost to foreign competitors, by current over taxation and other prohibiting factors, and in turn how India can transform itself into an attractive MRO destination.” A recent report by the Aeronautical Society of India estimates the MRO market will grow from less than $1 billion to about $ 2.6 billion by 2020.
