Chad started his writing career at The Avion,&nbsp;the&nbsp;student newspaper at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, serving as editor-in-chief before graduating with a bachelor's in aeronautical science. On the heels of EASA certification earlier this month, Dassault Falcon received approval from the FAA for EASy II, the French aircraft manufacturer’s next-generation flight deck. Like EASy, the second-generation system uses the Honeywell Primus Epic avionics suite as its platform. “EASy II marks a dramatic step forward in creating a cockpit environment that is focused on elevating situational awareness,” said Dassault Falcon president and CEO John Rosanvallon. New options and enhancements available in EASy II include a synthetic vision system, improved display symbology, a runway awareness and advisory system, RNP SAAR approaches capability, Egnos (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) LPV function and ADS-B Out. Two new communication features are also in development: future air navigation system (Fans) 1A and controller pilot datalink communication/air traffic network. Dassault will deliver the first production Falcon 900LX with EASy II next month. A retrofit for all EASy Falcon 900s will be available as a Service Bulletin by next Monday, Dassault Falcon said. A training course developed with CAE SimuFlite has received approval by the EASA, FAA and UK CAA. EASy II is slated to be available later next year for the Falcon 7X (third quarter) and Falcon 2000 EASy variants (fourth quarter).
