In a surprise announcement at the NBAA convention, Stratford, Conn.-based Sikorsky Aircraft revealed that it reached an agreement “in principle” to make a substantial minority investment in Eclipse Aerospace. Executives from both companies provided few specifics about the deal, including its value. Eclipse CEO Mason Holland told AIN that the investment would not be used to restart serial production of the Eclipse 500 very light jet, although that remains the company’s eventual goal. “The money will be used for ongoing development as we move toward production,” Holland said.
