Exuma International Airport will see its first FBO when Odyssey Aviation Bahamas opens a new facility at the airport in Georgetown, Exuma, next March. Odyssey Aviation Bahamas opened satellite handling locations in Georgetown and Treasure Cay, Abaco, late last year, “but the steady growth of business and the demand for consistent, reliable and reputable service merited Odyssey’s plans for a new facility in Exuma,” according to the company. The new facility will be located next to the Exuma airport’s existing parking area. The 2,400-sq-ft FBO terminal will offer Bahamas customs and immigration clearance, wireless Internet access, WSI weather station and a flight-planning room, pilot and passenger lounges, HD satellite TV, coffee, popcorn station, catering cooler, ice machine and on-site dishwashing and laundry facilities. “The development of a full-service FBO is long overdue in Exuma,” the company stated. “The facility will be adequately sized and is to be developed using an ‘Island Outpost’ theme–open, airy, colorful, incorporating outdoor seating and resting areas, making the most of the surrounding indigenous and natural foliage.”
