Gulf Coast Avionics president Rick Garcia has announced the company’s expansion into the Brazilian aviation market through a joint venture with Quick Aviação, located in Goiânia-Goias. “There is a vibrant general aviation industry in South America, particularly in Brazil. We are excited to expand our international presence by partnering with such a well known and respected shop as Quick Aviação,” Garcia said. The company will operate out of the Quick Aviação facility and do business under the name Gulf Coast Avionics Brazil. According to Garcia, the Brazilian operation will be run by Jonatas Berberian, who, in addition to being a member of the family that owns Quick Aviação, brings a “high level of avionics experience to the venture.” Previously Berberian worked as a Rockwell Collins systems engineer, Honeywell customer support engineer and a Garmin field engineer. “We look forward to bringing a new concept in avionics upgrades to the Brazilian market,” Berberian said. He noted that the partnership will allow Quick to add avionics systems to the aircraft conversion services it already provides for airframes, engines and propellers. Gulf Coast Avionics has also established locations in other South American countries, including Colombia and Venezuela.
