Hawker Beechcraft Services (HBS) has expanded its aircraft maintenance facility at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Ariz. The recently completed $14 million project added a second 26,000-sq-ft hangar which includes 22,000 sq ft of back shops, administrative offices and a customer lobby. The enhanced customer space offers guest offices for customers to use while their aircraft are being serviced. According to the company, the customer offices include computers, Wi-Fi access, printers and phones. The new space, which will also serve as the company’s regional service center in the Southwest, supplements existing facilities HBS opened last year to accommodate a full-service MRO offering airframe, avionics, engine and AOG support for the company’s entire aircraft line. “Mesa is an ideal maintenance destination for several reasons, including its customer-friendly atmosphere and average of 325 days of sunshine per year,” said Christi Tannahill, vice president for Hawker Beechcraft global customer support. Over the last two years, HBS has made a number of service improvements, including the opening of new paint facilities at its Chester, UK service center and most recently at its new service center in Indianapolis.
