NBAA and AOPA said yesterday they will co-host a series of Light Business Airplane (LBA) conferences starting next year. Two LBA conferences will be held in 2010, the first in conjunction with the NBAA Convention in Atlanta next October and the second at AOPA’s Aviation Summit in Long Beach, Calif., the following month. “NBAA and AOPA have a long history of working together, a strong overlap of interests and an ongoing commitment to serving those in the industry,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “This agreement to jointly host these events specifically for light business airplane operators will greatly enhance the value NBAA and AOPA are able to provide to this important industry segment.” The 2010 conferences will be similar to the one held at the NBAA show this year, the centerpiece of which was a series of education sessions. NBAA had planned to hold a large LBA Convention in San Diego in March before canceling that show after a number of hoped-for exhibitors, including general aviation stalwarts Cessna and Garmin, declined to participate.
