A pair of significant milestones underscores West Star Aviation’s continued growth in a depressed economy. The company is in the final stage of a planned service capabilities expansion and facilities consolidation at its Dallas Love Field (DAL) location. In addition, the company’s East Alton, Ill. (ALN) facility has been named a Piaggio Aero authorized service center.
The renovated 50,000-sq-ft DAL Lemmon Street facility can now accommodate all corporate aircraft for maintenance, avionics repair/installation, interior refurbishments and minor paint activities. The facility incorporated and consolidated all activities offered at the original location and includes new pilot lounges, planning areas, secure storage, technical shop space and other physical improvements.
“This final phase allows us to offer our services at one easily accessible location with reduced ramp- and street-side congestion,” said Susie Corn, Dallas director of operations. “Part of the final phase involved closing our Cedar Springs Road facility, which will no longer be needed.” The company does plan to continue to provide line maintenance for transient customers at that location.
The ALN facility was recently named a Piaggio Aero authorized service center, allowing it to do complete maintenance and modification services on Piaggio Avantis.
