Class 4 FAA repair station D&K Aviation, located at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, N.Y., is up for sale. “We’re a privately held company and we’re accepting bids for the entire operation,” president and CEO Steve Jones told AIN. “We would really like to see someone purchase the entire operation so it stays intact, but if we have to we’ll liquidate the assets to pay off the bills; it’s begun to bleed us dry.

“The economy was enough of a problem but the final nail in business aviation’s coffin was the Obama Administration and congressional position that corporate aircraft are nothing more than perks,” Jones said. “We were going strong with 42 employees, but
it has been at least six months since we’ve had any significant work. I’ve been forced
to let everyone go except our chief inspector so we can keep the certificate alive in anticipation of a sale.”
