Chad is the editor of AINalerts, AIN's daily business aviation newsletter, and is also the news editor at AIN Media Group.&nbsp;He has been writing about aviation, with an emphasis on business aviation, since 1994. Chad started his writing career at The Avion,&nbsp;the&nbsp;student newspaper at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, serving as editor-in-chief before graduating with a bachelor's in aeronautical science. After a stint as managing editor at Professional Pilot&nbsp;magazine, he joined&nbsp;AIN in late 1998. Chad holds a commercial pilot certificated with instrument and multi-engine ratings, and he also is a CFI/CFII. He lives and works from his home in Venice, Florida.

Blue Sky Avgroup, which filed a 
<link ainmxreports>lawsuit against kit aircraft manufacturer Epic Air on June 5, amended its suit to add Epic sister companies Aircraft Completion Services and Aircraft Investor Resources; founder and 42-percent owner Richard Schrameck; Jeff Sanders, who owned 47 percent of the companies; and Michael Shealy, owner of 11 percent of the three companies. Rich Lucibella, who filed the Blue Sky lawsuit and was building an Epic LT single-engine turboprop kit, alleges that he paid $1,844,800 for his airplane and Pratt &amp; Whitney Canada PT6A-67A engine, but has not received the engine, propeller and avionics, and his kit is now locked in Epic’s Bend, Ore. facility. Epic has previously stated that it delivered the kit as specified in the contract.
