Ground support equipment provider Aero Specialties (Booth No. 986) has signed a distribution agreement with Jet Go International for its new 550M diesel-powered 28-volt GPU.
Packaged in a fiberglass shell, the Jet Go 550M is compact and easily maneuverable by hand but also can be towed with a tug. Combining a small 34-hp diesel engine and batteries, the unit offers 550 continuous amps of 28.5-volt DC power with peak starting amperage of more than 1,500.
At a typical load rating of 40 percent, the 550M consumes less than one gallon of fuel per hour, which according to Jet Go makes it the greenest fuel-burning GPU on the market. The Australian manufacturer said it is also one of the safest and most ergonomically designed ground support products available, offering sophisticated aircraft protection, a user-friendly control panel and a narrow, low profile for ease of use on a tight ramp.
âWe designed the 550M from the ground up specifically for medium-size FBOs and corporate operators,â said Rod Gray, president of Jet Go. âIts compact size and small engineâbig advantages for the smaller userâmight not be ideal for heavy industrial operations like airlines or the busiest FBOs.â
Aero Specialties, based in Boise, Idaho, also designed and introduced two entirely new towbars to its line, as well as improved the security and ergonomics of all its towbar products.
The new Scorpion multi-use towbar fits most aircraft up to 15,600 pounds. Aeroâs new TB125 aluminum towbar joins the steel TB3 in its 125,000-pound capacity multihead towbar selection in this class of towbar system.
