The Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) is partnering with Reed Exhibitions to bring business aviation to Asian Aerospace 2009, scheduled for September 8 to 10 at the Asia-World Expo in Hong Kong. The new event, called Asian Business Aviation, was announced on Monday. “The outlook for Asian business aviation continues to be promising,” said AsBAA chairman Chuck Woods. “I believe the event will help promote industry collaboration and provide a sales opportunity for…clients.” AsBAA partnered with NBAA in running three editions of the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE). The fourth annual ABACE was to have been held in Hong Kong in February, but NBAA canceled it in late December as a consequence of the economic downturn. In response to the announcement of Asian Business Aviation, NBAA said it “is not involved with the event recently announced by Reed Exhibitions and does not view it as a replacement or fill-in for [ABACE] produced by NBAA and [AsBAA]. As we reported when we reluctantly canceled ABACE2009…NBAA remains committed to business aviation in Asia, and we intend to resume production of ABACE as soon as market conditions allow.”
