Farnborough, UK-based air-taxi service Blink recently took delivery of three more Cessna Citation Mustangs and now has four of the very light jets in service and another 26 on order, with five more due to arrive by October. Blink’s contract with Cessna calls for a total of 45 Mustangs, which includes firm orders for 30 and options on 15. With more aircraft in its fleet, Blink is preparing to offer bespoke corporate shuttle services to fly company employees between locations at specified times. The company launched operations last June and now claims to have more than 300 customers, ranging from large publicly held companies to private individuals. Flights are currently operated by TAG Aviation as Blink, which is backed by $30 million in equity funding, prepares to establish its own commercial aircraft operators certificate. “The economic downturn provides us the perfect landscape to increase our fleet given the unique value proposition of a Blink air taxi,” said managing director Peter Leiman. “Blink is the right product at the right time for companies looking to reduce total travel [expenditure] and increase their employees’ productivity. With more capacity we will save more companies more money.” Meanwhile, Belgian charter operator Flying Group this month took delivery of the first of four Citation Mustangs it has on order.
