Aviation jobs listing service JSFirm reported record postings for aviation professionals last year, with more than 4,000 company members, 60,000 individual résumé members and an average of more than five million Web site hits per month, according to account manager Tonya Salatino. Web site activity has already climbed 10 percent this year, she added. Most of the jobs available are for maintenance technicians, although JSFirm covers all aviation positions, including pilots, managers and engineers. Fort Worth, Texas-based JSFirm’s services are free to job seekers. Employers can search résumés using criteria such as aircraft make and model to narrow down prospective employees’ capabilities. To protect employees from discovery if their employer uses JSFirm, job seekers can make their résumés confidential. JSFirm counselors work with job seekers and employers to help them make the best use of the service. “Amid the economic downturn, we are seeing extensive activity on our Web site,” Salatino said. “Aviation professionals with certain skills remain elusive to hiring companies.”
