R.W. Martin announced here at the show that it has completed construction of a 20,000-sq-ft hangar at its aircraft modification facility at French Valley airport in Murrieta, Calif. The facility “greatly enhances our flight test capabilities and adds much-needed room for both our internal and customer projects,” said company president John Zublin. The company also reported completion of one such project: flight testing in support of a restricted category STC program that will permit operation of the DHC-6-300 airframe at gross weights up to 14,000 pounds for aerial survey operations. Zublin said the project is in the final phases of the STC process and that R.W. Martin expects an STC award before the end of this year.
