South Carolina-based Baldwin Aviation (Booth No. 3372) has expanded its Safety Management System (SMS) services with the introduction of its online SMSplus program.
SMSplus offers a suite of Web-based tools that can be used to manage and monitor a safer, more efficient flight organization, the company said. These tools include an SMS manual, safety risk profiles, risk assessments, operational alerts, a document bulletin board and access to Baldwinâs Safety Barometer assessment and electronic library.
âA lot of flight departments or aircraft operations have portions of a Safety Management System in place, but they arenât fully equipped or staffed to stay current with all safety-related information and regulations,â said Don Baldwin, former NBAA board of directors chairman and current president of Baldwin Aviation.
âSMSplus is an online, turnkey, flexible and affordable program that will help [aviation managers] fill gaps in their safety management program.â
SMSPlus was developed from Baldwinâs existing Safety Management Program. Created in 2005 to simplify compliance to FAA, ICAO and International Standard for Business Aviation Operations (IS-BAO) regulations, standards and practices, the Baldwin Aviation Safety Management Program provides subscribers with the components and expertise necessary to become IS-BAO registered in approximately four months, the company notes.
In addition to SMS and SMSPlus, Baldwin also offers a Support Services Program that addresses fuel management, scheduling, weather information and operational issues.
