Right Management Consultants, a $415 million global firm specializing in career transition and organizational consulting services, announced the launch of a new practice devoted to aviation, aerospace and defense organizations at a Wednesday morning press conference here at NBAA ’02.

According to John Schreitmueller, Right senior vice president and leader of the dedicated aviation practice, the company has been providing employee intervention and responsible downsizing consultation services to aviation clients for more than 20 years. Schreitmueller indicated that terminating employees responsibly is not only good human relations, but makes good business sense as well.

“If a company is irresponsible with the way it lets people go, it dramatically increases the exposure to litigation, negative press and poor standing in the community,” said Schreitmueller. “Whether the employee is a member of the executive staff or a $10-per-hour factory worker, treating an employee well by helping the individual in meaningful ways such as finding alternative employment sends a different message and helps the company’s exposure.”

Right has dedicated approximately 12 people of its 3,000-strong worldwide staff to the new aviation practice, with additional resources dedicated to aviation clients on an as-needed basis. Interested parties can contact Schreitmueller at (215) 640-8156 or www.right.com.
