With growing environmental concerns about fuel, oil, de-icing fluids and even washwater, FBOs have had to spool up to speed in their knowledge of stormwater runoff from their airport properties. A dedicated Web site, www.StormwaterAuthority.org, provides a clearinghouse resource where specifying engineers, contractors, developers, site owners and regulators can learn and share information. Visitors to the site can also research best management practices and regulations, and access the latest news on stormwater management and treatment.
Among its many commercial partners, the New Hampshire-based Web site announced that Storm Water Services, based in Spring, Texas, had joined the Web team. “We are working toward a cleaner environment and developing strategies to assist municipal leaders and engineers throughout the U.S. with meeting the regulatory requirements in their region,” said Shane Kaiser of Storm Water Services.
“StormwaterAuthority.org is a resource that supports our initiatives and shares similar goals, not only to improve the water quality in our lakes, streams and rivers but also working for a cleaner environment and cultivating sustainable strategies that give you a competitive edge.”
