Sentient Flight Group announced yesterday that it has agreed “in principle” to buy TAG Aviation USA’s aircraft management business from Switzerland-based TAG Aviation Holding. The deal does not seem to include TAG Aviation USA’s charter affiliate, AMI Jet Charter, which recently had its charter certificate revoked. TAG Aviation USA owns 49 percent of AMI; the rest of the company is owned by AMI executives. Sentient’s plan to buy TAG Aviation USA’s management business is due to be signed and sealed before the end of this year. According to Sentient, “The deal will provide TAG USA with a favorable solution to an operational control matter regarding operating authority of its affiliated certificate holder, AMI Jet Charter–which is largely related to TAG USA’s foreign ownership by Swiss-based TAG Aviation Holding.” Sentient said it will “seamlessly integrate” TAG’s management business and personnel, and allow “TAG aircraft owners and the charter ally partner aircraft from AMI Jet Charter to develop plans that allow airplanes to be transferred as soon as possible.”
