FBO operator, aircraft service provider and management specialist Pentastar Aviation (Booth No. 3351) has recently named a new president and CEO. Rick Maloney is an aviation industry veteran with 30 years of experience including positions as United Airlines vice president for flight operations, as well as the carrier’s system chief pilot.
Most recently, Maloney served as dean of the College of Aviation at Western Michigan University. He earned an MBA with an emphasis on aviation management from Newport University, Newport Beach, Calif.

Pentastar was also recently honored by the FAA, which awarded more than 80 members of the Michigan-based company’s maintenance and avionics team its coveted Aviation Maintenance Technician Award (AMT). The AMT program encourages excellence through continuous technical training. In addition, Pentastar received two distinctive corporate awards. Company owner Edsel Ford II acknowledged the achievement, stating, “this recognition is a testament to our organization’s commitment to master the many new technologies and applications emerging within our industry.”

Pentastar Aviation is the only independently owned Gulfstream- authorized warranty and repair facility in the U.S.
