Design of Utilicraft’s prototype FF1080-200 twin-engine freight-hauling turboprop has been finalized, and the airplane is scheduled to fly in January, according to John Dupont, chairman, president and CEO. The -200 will serve as a 77-percent-scale prototype of the larger -300ER. Work is about to begin on the all-metal airplane’s fuselage, to be built by Metalcraft Technologies of Cedar City, Utah. A wing supplier will be announced shortly. All major structural components will be shipped to Utilicraft’s Albuquerque, N.M., facility for final assembly.
