Adam Aircraft’s A700 VLJ is “moving along swiftly,” company president Joe Walker said last month at the NBAA Convention. Orders for the $2.25 million A700, as of September 30, stood at 282 aircraft, including 57 individual sales, 75 for air-limo start-up Pogo and 150 for other undisclosed air-limo operators. Certification of the A700 is on track for the fourth quarter of next year, Walker said.

An air-limo mockup configuration of A700 S/N 001 was on display at the Englewood, Colo. company’s NBAA booth last month. Meanwhile, S/N 002 was on static display at Orlando Executive Airport, featuring publicly for the first time an MFD and PFD in the cockpit. Walker said S/N 002 flew pressurized at 25,000 feet from Denver to Orlando and has logged 350 hours of flight testing so far.

A700 S/N 003 is expected to join the flight-test fleet this month, while S/N 004 will come on line later next year and subsequently start function and reliability testing.

At the NBAA show last month, the company launched the Adam Support Aircraft Program, in partnership with Chicago-based JSSI. The program allows A700 owners to pay $350 per hour for three years or 750 hours, whichever comes first, in exchange for all operating costs, excluding fuel.
