Cantec Systems of Ontario, Canada, is the latest company to sign a distributor agreement with Securaplane Technologies to offer Hawker main ship batteries. Cantec is an authorized Canadian value-added center for power products and has been supporting Canadian military land vehicles, aviation, portable power, telecom, UPS and industrial customers with pure-lead technology for more than 20 years. It joins a team of authorized distributors that includes CRS Jet Spares, Duncan Aviation and Corporate Jet Support.

According to Securaplane, the EnerSys line of Hawker main ship pure lead batteries offers significant performance enhancements over other sealed lead acid and nicad batteries. Benefits of the no-maintenance, 99.99-percent pure lead construction battery include a 30-month full replacement warranty, 24 months storage before installation, shipment fully charged and ready to install, and hot and cold performance that exceeds that of its nicad counterpart.

Securaplane Technologies also announced it has been selected to provide a new LED emergency lighting battery (SLA-3000) for the Gulfstream G150. Use of the battery yields a 10-pound reduction in weight and decreases the line replaceable unit count from four to two per aircraft over the existing battery system. According to the company, the sealed lead acid battery features a battery level test, a built-in precision charging system and does not require deep cycling or removal from the aircraft for a capacity check.
