Chelton Flight Systems announced completion of the STC for the company’s FlightLogic synthetic-vision EFIS in the Cessna Citation 501. Developed in conjunction with Temple Electronics at Houston Hobby Airport, the FlightLogic installation includes single or dual GPS WAAS receivers, FMS, single or dual fiber-optic gyros, Class-A or -B TAWS, autopilot interface, digital flight recorder, voice warning master caution system and dual RVSM air-data computers. The basic EFIS installation can be completed in two to three weeks for a “turn-key” price of $187,000, including the TAWS and AHRS, according to the manufacturer. The system satisfies FAA mandates for TAWS and RVSM, according to a spokesman. FlightLogic is also STC’d in the King Air 90/100/200/300, Conquest I and II, all Cheyennes, all Commanders, the MU-2, Pilatus PC-12, TBM 700, Piaggio Avanti and about 600 other Part 23 aircraft under a blanket FAA approval.
