Bombardier is looking to boost its parts distribution performance with the opening of two new “super warehouses.” A new facility opened at Chicago O’Hare International Airport and another new parts depot at Germany’s Frankfurt International Airport will be fully operational in November. The Frankfurt depot will be bonded, meaning that parts will clear customs as soon as they arrive and will be available for immediate distribution. The Canadian airframer has enlisted supply chain management specialist Caterpillar Logistics to run these warehouses and Seattle-based Expediters International to handle parts delivery. Both new warehouses will carry parts for Bombardier’s business and regional aircraft series. Bombardier is laying plans to establish another parts warehouse in Brazil and is also looking for a partner to open an AOG line repair station in Russia.
