Max-Viz, the Portland, Ore.

Max-Viz, the Portland, Ore. maker of enhanced-vision systems (EVS) for business aircraft, announced that a Gulfstream III operator has become the launch customer for its EVS-1000 system in that model. West Star Aviation in Grand Junction, Colo., is performing the installation as part of an amendment to the current STC covering the GIV and GV. The Max-Viz infrared camera system provides pilots with views ahead of the airplane at night or in low visibility on a cockpit multifunction display.

Addition of the GIII to the list of aircraft approved for Max-Viz enhanced vision systems will bring to more than 40 the total number of Max-Viz certifications for airplanes and helicopters. Other STCs in development for the Max-Viz EVS-1000 are the Learjet 60 by Bombardier, Hawker 400 through 1000 by Raytheon Aircraft Services, Falcon 2000 by Duncan Aviation, Cessna 500/501 by Sierra Industries, Bell 206/407 by Leading Edge Aviation and Sikorsky S-76 by Max-Viz.
