Many industry veterans don’t disappear after retirement, but reappear as consultants, advisors or board members of companies that could benefit from their knowledge and experience. Such is the case with aircraft manufacturer veteran Max Bleck. Sino Swearingen last month announced that Bleck joined the board and that former president and board member Carl Chen “had left the company to pursue other interests.”

Bleck, who has been working with Sino Swearingen as a senior advisor, served as president of Raytheon, Beech, Piper and Cessna over a 45-year career.

Commenting on Bleck’s appointment, Sino Swearingen CFO Kelly Simmons told AIN, “He is a tremendous force, even though he is retired. It’s amazing to watch a veteran like that who can just walk through a plant and intuitively point out things that many of us might just be learning. We are very excited to have him on board. He carries a tremendous amount of respect.”
