In mid-June, longtime Houston Hobby FBO Enterprise Jet Center opened a new 300,000-sq-ft FBO facility fronted by a 10,000-sq-ft canopy large enough to fit Gulfstream Vs and Global Expresses. The 85,000 sq ft of clear-span hangar space is filling quickly, according to sales and marketing director Heather Hardwick, and about 60 percent of the available office space is already leased.
A two-story atrium lobby welcomes visitors and will feature Hobby Airport memorabilia and a full-size airplane currently being assembled by the Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society. Security is aided by a new $225,000 Envirocom video-monitoring system installed throughout the facility. Enterprise is an Avfuel dealer, in addition to being an FAA Part 145 repair station.
Amenities at Enterprise include a quiet room and library, media room with home theater system, comfort rooms, exercise facility, snooze rooms, baths and showers and wireless Internet access. Enterprise, which has a 30-year lease with Houston Airport System, has the opportunity to expand even further, with two five-year options on a 16-acre parcel adjacent to its existing property.
