Former Gulfstream and NetJets Aviation executive Bill Boisture has resurfaced at Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm The Carlyle Group as a senior advisor to the aerospace and defense team.
In this role, Boisture, 60, will identify promising investments in the aerospace, defense and business-services sectors and will provide management, industry and marketing guidance to existing portfolio companies. Carlyle’s business aviation investments include parts distributor Aviall (acquisition by Boeing pending) and Landmark Aviation, a conglomerate created by the 2004 merger of maintenance provider Garrett Aviation, FBO chain Piedmont Hawthorne and completions firm Associated Air Center.
Boisture, a former fighter pilot, is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons (Top Gun) schools.
