At busy Manassas Regional Airport near Washington, D.C., FlightWorks has opened its third hangar/office facility for charter and aircraft management customers. Billed as private and secure for aircraft owners, the $3.5 million Manassas FlightWorks facility features 30,000 sq ft of hangar space, 10,000 sq ft for offices and 11 private garages where aircraft management customers can park their cars during trips.

When customers began asking FlightWorks about charter and management services in the Washington, D.C. area, said FlightWorks president Scott Beale, “We looked at Dulles, Manassas and Leesburg.” The Manassas airport’s friendliness toward business development and its 5,700-foot-long primary runway make the airport ideal for a charter/management company. “Manassas welcomed us with open arms,” he said.

FlightWorks manages 30 airplanes, with seven based in Manassas and the rest at its facilities in Jacksonville, Fla., and Atlanta. The goal for the new Manassas facility is 15 airplanes, Beale said. Since January FlightWorks has added 11 aircraft to its charter/ management fleet, the latest a Bell 407.
