Bombardier Aerospace reached outside the company last month to appoint Pierre Gabriel Côté president of Bombardier Business Aircraft, a position that had been held on an interim basis for the previous 10 months by Pierre Beaudoin, president and COO of Bombardier Aerospace. Last September, Beaudoin replaced Peter Edwards, who had been with the Canadian manufacturer for 10 years.

Côté’s résumé includes positions as president and CEO at Rogers Sugar Income Fund, senior v-p of international operations and energy at Abitibi Consolidated and executive v-p at Kruger. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and is a private pilot license.

“Pierre Gabriel brings a wealth of national and international leadership experience to Bombardier,” said Beaudoin. “His impressive track record is one of delivering solid results on aggressive targets, notably in increasingly senior roles in operations management.”

Bombardier in the first quarter of this year delivered 56 business jets compared with 43 in the first quarter of last year. The company shipped 188 business jets last year versus 129 in 2004. First-half deliveries for this year were not available at press time.
