Gulfstream delivered 54 business jets in the first half of this year compared with 41 in the first half of last year. Shipments of “large” aircraft (G350s through G550s) increased from 29 to 34 in the two periods, and deliveries of midsize/super-midsize jets (G100s through G200s) nearly doubled–20 in the first six months of this year versus 12 in the first half of last year. The company projects it will deliver 72 large aircraft this year compared with 63 last year. If Gulfstream does meet that large-airplane goal, and if the other products continue to sell as briskly, it could be looking at a record year, surpassing 2001’s 101 aircraft.
